About the role
Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.
The Community You Will Join
You will become a key member of the Global Operations Community Support Planning team, responsible for driving the end-to-end roadmap planning process for Community Support at Airbnb. Our team ensures that initiatives and programs are prioritized to align with our overarching strategy and our commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. We are a global team with expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and organizational effectiveness.
The Difference You Will Make
As a Senior Planning Partner, Content, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success and satisfaction of our customers through strong relationship management and strategic collaboration. You will be assigned to one or more product spaces and serve as the primary point of contact for the Content Managers, writers, and strategists in those spaces, owning the end-to-end planning and coordination of every launch that impacts Community Support content. You will ensure clear communication, alignment of objectives, and on-time, high-quality delivery of content at launch. You will proactively identify opportunities to add value while addressing potential challenges, always striving to deliver measurable impact for our customers and the business.
Your ability to build trusted relationships with content, product, engineering, marketing, and legal partners, coupled with your strategic mindset and disciplined approach to execution, will help launches go smoothly and contribute to the success of both our customers and the organization.
A Typical Day
Engage proactively with cross-functional partners and stakeholders by maintaining regular check-ins, communication of planning timelines and upcoming milestones, and feedback sessions to develop trust and ensure alignment with their goals and objectives
Identify all responsible individuals for each launch in advance, including the writer and strategist of the impacted content, Marketing, Legal, and technical SME approvers, Localization partners, and cross-functional partners such as taxonomy, training, resource center, Biztech, and other project managers with related work
Build and communicate the content schedule to all content requestors and approvers, gathering approver blockout dates and building in time for content audits, authoring, technical accuracy review, Marketing review, Legal review, localization, and a buffer for outliers
Schedule and lead the series of meetings for each launch: the launch info-gathering walk-through with product, engineering, and readiness; content audit sessions; a Marketing pre-flight meeting; a recurring weekly launch status meeting with the content team and technical SMEs; and a launch-day “Mission Control” meeting and Slack channel
Partner with strategists in content audits to identify all impacted content, prioritize impacts (P1 Day One, P2 fast-follows, P3 everything else), ensure tickets are filed for every impacted article, and flag UI-linked content and localization requirements
Prepare and send weekly status communications to Content Managers and content DRIs, including the list of impacted articles and P1/P2/P3 status, so that risks (audit timing, approvals behind schedule, launch date changes) are visible early
