1. Who we are and scope
1.1 These terms apply to every contract made through remotelyscaled.com (the "Site") between you and M. Subedi, trading as Remotely Scaled, Johanneskirchner Str. 101, 81927 München, Germany, email hello@remotelyscaled.com ("we", "us").
1.2 They apply to (a) the Pro and Ultra memberships, (b) digital templates sold as downloads and (c) career services (calls, CV/resume and cover-letter work, bundles). Free features such as browsing jobs, the free weekly digest, free tools and free practice tests are offered without a paid contract, and sections 8–10 apply to them as well.
1.3 Our offer is aimed at consumers and businesses. Where a provision applies only to consumers (as defined in § 13 BGB), it says so. Any terms of yours that differ from these do not apply unless we agree to them in writing.
2. Contract language, conclusion of the contract
2.1 The contract language is English. We store the contract text. You can view these terms at any time at /terms/, and we send you the contract details by email after purchase.
2.2 Product pages on the Site are not binding offers. You make a binding offer when you press the payment button (e.g. "Pay" or "Subscribe") on the checkout page. The contract is concluded when the payment succeeds and the confirmation is shown. Before paying you can check and correct your entries on the checkout page, or close the page to cancel.
2.3 Payment processing and merchant of record.
- Memberships: payments are processed by Stripe. If Stripe Managed Payments is enabled for a plan, Stripe (through its Link service) is merchant of record for the payment: Link appears as the seller on your receipt, collects and pays sales tax/VAT, sends receipts and invoices, and offers payment support. We remain responsible for providing the membership and for product support.
- Templates, digital products and paid practice tests are sold through a secure checkout by Stripe. If Stripe Managed Payments is enabled for a product, Stripe (through its Link service) acts as merchant of record for the payment and its checkout terms govern the payment. Section 4 governs your use of the files and your access to the tests.
- Career services: Stripe processes the payment for us, and we are the seller (Managed Payments does not cover professional services).
2.4 Prices are shown in euros and US dollars. You pay in the currency shown at checkout. Pro and Ultra memberships are sold via Stripe Managed Payments: Stripe acts as the seller, and VAT is included in the price where applicable. For practice tests, 1:1 career services and featured roles, where we are the seller: No VAT is charged under the small-business rule (§19 UStG). / Gemäß §19 UStG wird keine Umsatzsteuer berechnet.
3. Pro and Ultra memberships (subscriptions)
3.1 What you get is described on /pricing/ at the time you buy. In summary:
- Pro: a daily job email each morning with the new remote jobs since the day before, grouped by job type, with a direct link to every role, from the company career sites we track.
- Ultra: everything in Pro, one written CV review per membership year, a monthly 1-hour group Q&A call and 15% off career services. This applies to the monthly and the yearly plan.
The job listings come from public company career sites. We do not guarantee the number, accuracy or availability of any listing, or that you will get a job.
3.2 Term and renewal. Monthly plans run for one month and yearly plans for one year from the day you pay. A plan renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the end of the current period. We email you before a yearly plan renews. Price changes apply only to the next period, are announced at least 30 days in advance, and you can cancel before they take effect.
3.3 Cancellation. You can cancel at any time, with effect from the end of the current paid period, by any of these routes:
- the "Cancel contracts here (Verträge hier kündigen)" button in the footer of every page (/cancel/);
- the Stripe customer portal at /manage-subscription/;
- email to hello@remotelyscaled.com.
You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We confirm every cancellation by email. Your statutory right to terminate for good cause (außerordentliche Kündigung) is not affected.
3.4 Included and discounted extras. Ultra extras apply only while the membership is active. The Ultra CV review must be requested within the membership year. Unused benefits expire and are not paid out.
4. Digital templates and paid practice tests
4.1 You receive a download link from us straight after payment. You get a simple, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the template for your own business or personal purposes. You may not resell, share or publish the template files themselves.
4.1a Paid practice tests: after payment you return to our site, ask us to start access straight away, and get a personal access link by email. Each test can be taken up to 3 times. The access is for your personal use; do not share the link or publish the questions. The tests are practice material, not an official or validated employer test.
4.2 Templates are tools for general education. They are not tax, legal or investment advice, and results depend on your own inputs. For your own taxes, please consult a Steuerberater or a qualified tax adviser in your country.
5. Career services
5.1 The scope, duration, delivery time and price of each service are as shown on /services/ when you book. Calls take place by video. Written work is delivered by email in the stated time, counted in German working days from the day we receive everything we need from you (for example your current CV).
5.2 Rescheduling: you can reschedule or cancel a booked call free of charge up to 24 hours before the start, using the link in your booking email or by emailing us. If we have to cancel, you can choose a new time or get a full refund.
5.3 Revision rounds included with a rewrite must be requested within 30 days of delivery.
5.4 Career services are general guidance. They are not legal, tax or immigration advice, and nobody can guarantee an interview or job offer. Hiring decisions are made by employers.
5.5 CV review credit: Bought a CV review? Its price ($159) counts toward a resume rewrite within 30 days. Email hello@remotelyscaled.com with your review order number and we’ll send you a rewrite checkout with the review price taken off.
5.6 Featured roles (for businesses): a featured role is a one-time paid placement for 30 days from the day it goes live. During that time the role is shown first in the job lists it appears in and in the homepage “Latest” list, carries a “Sponsored” badge marking it as a paid placement, and is shown in a labelled spot in the free weekly jobs email. We start within 2 working days of payment, after checking that it is a remote role on your own careers site. We do not guarantee views, clicks or applicants. We may decline a role that is not remote, not posted on your own site or not lawful; you then get a full refund, as you do if you cancel before it goes live. If the role closes early, we move the remaining days to another of your roles on request; there is no partial refund. Refunds go back to the original payment method.
6. Right of withdrawal for consumers
If you are a consumer, you have a statutory right of withdrawal. The details, including when it expires early, are in the Withdrawal policy at /withdrawal/. You can withdraw by using the "Withdraw from contract (Vertrag widerrufen)" function at /withdraw/, by email or by letter.
7. Payment, failed payments
7.1 Payment is due when you buy and, for memberships, at the start of each renewal period. Accepted payment methods are those shown at checkout.
7.2 If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will retry it. Until the payment succeeds we may pause the paid features, and the membership ends if payment has not been received within 14 days.
8. Your obligations, acceptable use
Do not misuse the Site. In particular, do not scrape or bulk-download listings or test questions, share paid access links or licence keys, interfere with security, or submit unlawful content. We may suspend access after a warning if you seriously breach this. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
9. Liability
9.1 We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act and where we have given a guarantee.
9.2 For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation (a duty whose fulfilment makes the contract possible in the first place and on which you may rely), and then only for the typical, foreseeable damage.
9.3 Otherwise our liability is excluded. Statutory warranty rights (Gewährleistung) for digital products under §§ 327 ff. BGB and for services are not affected.
10. Changes to free features
We may change or discontinue free features at any time. We change paid features only where the change is reasonable for you and does not reduce what you have paid for, and we will tell you in advance.
11. Dispute resolution
We are not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).
12. Governing law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. If you are a merchant, the place of jurisdiction is Munich.
13. Notes for customers in the United States and Canada
- Automatic renewal: we show the price, the billing period, that the plan renews until cancelled, and how to cancel, next to the subscribe button and again in the confirmation email. You can cancel online at any time (see 3.3).
- Quebec/Canada: nothing in these terms limits rights under the consumer protection law of your province.
- Your statutory rights in your country are not limited by these terms.
