About the role

Locations: US (remote), Boston (hybrid), or New York (hybrid) - EST preferred

Toast creates technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world, helping business owners operate, increase sales, engage customers, and keep employees happy. Toast Tables is Toast's reservations and waitlist product. Thousands of restaurants run their dining room on it: reservations, waitlist, and payments, built into the Toast point of sale. Toast Ticketing is the newest part of it. It lets a restaurant or venue sell tickets to its own events (a wine dinner, a comedy night, a holiday pre-order) on its public booking page, take payment, and check guests in at the door.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to own Toast Ticketing end to end. Ticketing is in open beta: any restaurant on Tables Plus (the paid tier of Toast Tables) can turn it on themselves, guests buy tickets on the restaurant's public booking page, and the host scans them in at the door. The next job is product-market fit, a commercial motion with sales and onboarding, and general availability. This is a senior individual contributor role. You report to the Toast Tables product lead and work day to day with the engineers who build ticketing, a design partner, and go-to-market (GTM) partners in sales, onboarding, and marketing.

You spend a lot of time with customers: on calls, on site, and watching real events get published, sell, and run. The restaurants running events on it talk to us every week, and what they tell us sets the backlog. You have a strong sense for the next right thing to build, and you keep scope tight so the team ships what matters most. You use AI tools every day to prototype, research, analyze data, and check your own thinking.

In this role, you will

Own the ticketing roadmap and strategy from open beta to general availability to scale, including where ticketing fits in Toast's guest platform and how it reaches venues beyond today's restaurants.

Run the weekly build loop with engineering: framing problems, deciding what ships each week and why, and measuring results.

Learn where early customers get value and where they get stuck, and use that to decide what to double down on and what to drop.

Carry commercialization with GTM and leadership: pricing and packaging recommendations, rep enablement, and the funnel from enabled to first event to repeat seller.

Keep live customers healthy: enablement, tax configuration edge cases, and payment issues, owning escalations directly until a support motion exists.

Own the numbers the business runs on: restaurants selling tickets, ticket sales, and fee revenue. Set the goals, measure them, and let the data change course.

What you'll need to thrive (Requirements)

8+ years of product management experience, including owning a product or major product area and its results.

You've taken an early product from first customers to product-market fit and meaningful growth.

You can point to product decisions that came directly from time spent with customers.

You've owned a revenue product end to end: pricing conversations, GTM partnership, and executive communication, not just a backlog.

You pull your own numbers, set goals up front, and let the data change your mind.

You use AI tools regularly in your work and can explain specifically how.

You write and speak clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.

Special Sauce (Nice to have)

Experience with payments, commerce, ticketing, or marketplace products.
