What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be the performance and implementation partner for Human Genetics, translating its strategy into coordinated priorities, practical plans, and measurable progress across Amgen R&D. You will connect scientific ambition with the operating mechanisms, decisions, and cross-functional actions needed to put a strategy into practice.
Partner with Human Genetics leadership and R&D functions to turn strategic priorities into an integrated roadmap with clear outcomes, owners, milestones, dependencies, and resource needs.
Create and maintain a performance framework that connects strategy to a focused set of measures, milestones, and leading indicators; synthesize progress, risks, and insights into concise updates that support timely decisions.
Coordinate implementation across discovery research, therapeutic area teams, data and technology, translational science, and enabling functions, aligning contributions and resolving handoffs and dependencies.
Plan and facilitate leadership operating rhythms, strategy reviews, and cross-functional governance forums; frame decisions, document actions, and follow through to ensure commitments translate into delivery.
Lead or coordinate priority implementation workstreams from problem definition through adoption, including workplans, risk and issue management, change impacts, communications, and capability building.
Identify barriers, gaps, and opportunities through stakeholder input and business analysis; develop evidence-based recommendations and escalate decisions with clear options and implications.
Build repeatable practices for planning, reporting, and continuous improvement so Human Genetics initiatives are transparent, adaptable, and connected to broader R&D priorities.
A successful candidate adapts and thrives in a constantly evolving, fast-moving environment. While day-to-day activities will vary, you can expect to serve as a trusted partner to scientific and business leaders, bring structure to complex work, and help teams move from agreement to sustained implementation
What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The strategic and collaborative professional we seek is an analytical, action-oriented partner who can build trust with scientific leaders and turn complex priorities into clear, coordinated execution.
