Role
We are looking for a Senior AI-Native Designer & Builder, Design System to join our team. This is a Hybrid role, reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Design in the Product Management department.
You will participate in the evolution of Zscaler's design ecosystem to ensure product consistency, scalability, and excellence while collaborating closely with Design, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to set visual and structural standards. Working in a fast-paced environment, you design with intention and leverage cutting-edge tools—embracing AI as a daily craft instrument rather than an occasional shortcut. If you believe great design systems are a designer's highest-leverage output and that AI is fundamentally transforming how we build them, we want to talk to you!
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
Design, architect, and refine reusable components and interaction patterns, focusing on robust structural relationships, and scalability
Write clear component specifications, usage guidelines, and standards, leveraging AI to speed up drafting and maintain comprehensive documentation
Utilize modern, AI-powered developer and design tools (e.g., Cursor, Devin, Claude) to build live prototypes, validate architectural feasibility, and accelerate production implementation
Partner directly with UI engineers to align design intent with web technologies, ensuring component structures are highly responsive, accessible, and easily consumable
Actively support product design teams during their adoption of the design system, assisting them in applying component architecture principles and troubleshooting complex layouts
Who You Are (Success Profile)
Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. You adapt to what’s needed, navigating seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
You seek out challenges because you are energized by finding solutions, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact.
You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
You have a deep curiosity for how things work and are energized by solving complex technical challenges. You believe in the power of technology to accelerate transformation and are always looking for a better, more secure, and scalable way.
