About the role
About the team
Zillow Experience Design (ZxD) is a multidisciplinary team shaping the experiences that help people discover, buy, sell, and rent homes. Within ZxD, the Design Foundations team defines the systems, standards, and practices that elevate quality across our product ecosystem. We focus on accessibility, design systems, visual design, product design quality, and content standards.
Two design teams sit within Foundations, one focused on our cross-platform design systems and platform standards, and the other focused on our visual design practice and visual language in product. Both work together to improve design quality across our apps, website, and other digital experiences and to operationalize quality through standards, education, tooling, support and collaborations with our Product Design partners.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Manager of Product Design (UI/Visual) to lead the Foundations team focused on our visual design practice and visual language. This is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter of how people experience Zillow—helping Product Design teams create clearer, more cohesive, and higher-quality customer experiences through visual craft, while building the practice, guidance, and partnerships that help that quality scale.
Zillow’s recently refreshed visual identity creates an opportunity to refine how it comes to life across our apps, website, and other digital experiences. You will co-own its evolution with our Brand and Studio teams, while driving its refinement and application in Product. You’ll ensure it meets real customer and Product-team needs while remaining thoughtful and consistent.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Design Foundations, you will lead and develop a specialized team and own and evolve our Product Design partner enablement program. You and your team will engage early on priority launches and future-facing concepts, including emerging AI experiences, helping shape how Zillow continues to make home a reality for more and more people. You’ll also help define and scale Zillow’s emerging AI Visual Identity.
As AI changes how teams design and build, this role will help ensure greater speed strengthens—not erodes—visual quality. You will partner with Design Technology to build quality into AI-enabled workflows and tools.
In this role, you will

Co-own the refinement of Zillow’s visual identity with the Brand and Studio teams, ensuring it works for Product use cases

Set Product-focused visual principles, standards, and guidance that help teams create cohesive, high-quality interfaces
Drive the evolution of the visual language of the design system, defining the Product-focused principles and guidance that shape how Zillow’s interfaces look and feel. Partner with Design Systems designers to evolve components and patterns around Product-team needs
Engage early in priority concepts and launches to improve interface clarity, cohesion, and quality—and to identify needs that can be addressed through shared guidance or the design system
Mature our Visual Design practice and Partner Enablement programs
Own and evolve the Partner Enablement program, pairing Foundations designers with Product Design teams to understand their needs, provide targeted guidance, and connect them with the right expertise across Design Foundations — including Design Systems, Visual Design, Engineering and Accessibility
