About the role
NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern deep learning - the next era of computing - with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, we are increasingly known as “The AI Computing Company.” We're looking to grow our company and establish teams with the most thoughtful people in the world.
NVIDIA HGX, MGX and DGX systems deliver the world's leading solutions for enterprise AI infrastructure at scale. With their end-to-end performance and flexibility, these systems enable researchers and scientists to combine simulation, data analytics, and AI to drive scientific progress on the most powerful end-to-end AI supercomputing platforms.
Are you ready to change the next generation of computing?
Join us at the forefront of technological advancement.
What you’ll be doing
Own bring-up of new platforms in the factory across every level: board, tray, rack, and cluster. You will be the software owner from the first power-on, working alongside hardware, firmware, diagnostics, and test engineering.
Design the flows that run in the factory: firmware flashing across BMC, HMC, SBIOS, VBIOS, NIC and other components, version validation, security provisioning, and power-cycle recovery and retry handling. Your goal is a high first-pass yield at scale.
Take our tools into partner factories. Work with ODMs, CMs, OEMs, and CSPs to define requirements, integrate NVIDIA tools into their infrastructure, and validate them.
Make AI part of how the team builds. Use AI coding agents to speed up development, testing, code review, log triage and bug filing. We want you to find new places to use them, and to build the pipelines that make them reliable.
Be the one who unblocks the line. When a station is down, trace the failure across hardware and software stacks to find and fix the root cause.
What we need to see
10+ years of experience in data center firmware, platform software or factory/manufacturing test software, with a BS, MS or PhD in EE, CS or a related field (or equivalent experience).
A proven track record building factory or data center automation (firmware flashing, diagnostics orchestration, provisioning, or log collection) and out-of-band management for large-scale server deployments.
Strong Python skills for building production tools and orchestration frameworks, plus working knowledge of C/C++, shell and Linux systems.
Solid knowledge of hardware interfaces (PCIe, USB, SMBus/I2C) and of debugging servers during early bringup.
Experience working directly with ODMs, CMs, or CSPs during NPI, bring-up, and volume production.
A strong communicator and collaborator who does well with ambiguity, owns problems end to end and works well across time zones.
Ways to stand out from the crowd
Experience with rack-scale or multi-node GPU systems (NVLink switch trays, rack-level diagnostics, compute/switch tray bringup).
Familiarity with manufacturing diagnostic frameworks and factory test stations.
Experience designing resilient factory flows that improve first-pass yield and reduce line downtime.
NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people on the planet working for us. If you're creative and autonomous, we want to hear from you!
Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and other objective job-related factors. The expected base salary range for this position is 184,000 USD – 287,500 USD.
