About the role
The application window is expected to close on: 11/12/2026 Meet the Team
The Cloud Capacity Planning team makes sure Cisco's cloud platforms have the compute, storage and network capacity customers need, in the right region at the right time. We turn demand from sales, product and engineering into confirmed supply with our cloud service providers (CSPs), which keeps customer launches, migrations and maintenance windows on track while managing cloud spend responsibly. We're a supportive team of 7 and analysts across the US and Canada who share what we know, learn from each other and celebrate wins together. What makes this team exciting is timing: we're bringing AI-powered forecasting into how Cisco plans for the future of cloud!
Your Impact
Build and maintain a rolling capacity forecast by CSP, region, workload and resource type to help leaders make confident investment and growth decisions worldwide. Compare demand from sales pipeline, bookings and product roadmaps against available supply, then work with CSPs on reservations so customers get capacity on time without wasted spend. Collaborate with sales on realistic lead times, with engineering on protecting capacity during maintenance windows and with FinOps on reconciling reservations to keep costs healthy. Mentor fellow capacity planners and introduce AI-enabled tools to make planning faster and more accurate across every region. Measure your success by sharper forecasts, on-time deliveries and a clear owner and plan for every capacity gap.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, supply chain, data analytics or a related field; and 8+ years of related experience, or a master's degree and 6+ years of related experience
Experience in cloud or infrastructure capacity planning with AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, including quotas and reservations
Experience building reports and dashboards
Experience working with FinOps or finance teams on cloud cost management, reservation coverage or budgets
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience using AI or machine learning tools to automate forecasting and reporting
Knowledge of how geopolitical, regulatory and data sovereignty factors affect regional capacity and hardware supply chains
Clear communicator who enjoys explaining trade-offs to stakeholders at every level
Passion for mentoring teammates and building processes that make everyone's work easier
